Our Mission

To raise and contribute funds for research that finds cures and more effective, less damaging treatments for childhood Acute Myeloid Leukemia, thus increasing survival rates.

Why We Exist

Leukemia is the #1 disease killer of children, taking more young lives than asthma, diabetes, cystic fibrosis, congenital abnormalities and AIDS combined.

Current treatments not only kill the cancer cells but the healthy cells as well, leaving children without immune systems for extended periods of time and causing damage to vital organs as well as other serious side effects.  Often times it is the complications from the treatment rather than the disease itself that takes a child’s life.  We believe that someday there will be a cure for childhood leukemia and other cancers.  In the meantime finding more effective, less toxic treatments is critical.  We are passionate about supporting research efforts to find better treatments so  children and their families will no longer suffer needlessly.

Who We Are

The Blue Butterfly Campaign was initiated by Max’s Blue Butterfly, a non-profit organization created to raise money for research to find a cure for childhood Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Leukemia is tragically now the leading cause of death among children and is shockingly under-funded. The Blue  Butterfly Campaign is designed to change that!  

In addition to raising money for research, the Blue Butterfly Campaign provides an online resource directory as a helping hand for the families and friends of children with cancer. We’ve been there, we know how overwhelming and hard the journey is, and in some small way we want to help support you by collecting and categorizing all of the best information available under one easy-to-navigate umbrella. We have found that there are so many wonderful organizations and our goal is to offer a gateway that includes leading childhood cancer experts, financial aid, support groups, books, counselors and much more.
